Alleged Toddler Killer Waives Right To See Judge

MANCHESTER, NH  (WBZ-AM)  -- The man arrested in connection to the murder of a two-year-old boy in Manchester waived his right to appear before a judge Thursday.

Mark Heath, 32 was arrested on Wednesday night for the murder of Jacob Pelletier by blunt force to the abdomen.

He was charged with two-counts of 2nd degree murder.

NH Assistant Attorney General Susan Morrell said, Health is currently being held without bail. She didn't provide any additional info on the autopsy as those files are sealed. The next court date has yet to be determined. 

Police initially responded to 551 Howe Street at 11:30 a.m. on December 11 for a report of an unconscious toddler.  

Pelletier was transported to the Elliot Hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later.
An autopsy revealed that cause of death was a homicide by blunt force trauma to the abdomen.

Health lived in the apartment with the child.

Neighbors are trying to understand why would someone responsible for watching Pelletier would harm him. 

"Kinda wants to make me second guess everything and kinda take a second look at who is it you are  allowing around my children...I don't understand the mindset is around that."said Eric Landry, a neighbor who spoke with WBZ-TV.  

"I have a 3-year-old daughter, that kinda makes googly eyes at him -- it's kinda cute. He was a very sweet kid...why...why would somebody do that?" Landry said. 

A Go FundMe Fundraising campaign was created the family of Pelletier to help with funeral expenses.
