Worcester Still Working On Police Body Cams

Methuen Police, Residents Embrace Body Camera

WORCESTER, MA (24/7 News Source) --  Worcester Police are still not ready to launch a body camera program for city officers.

Police Chief Steven Sargent says they have been working to finalize a program for over a year, and it remains a work in progress.

Sargent says he would like to launch a pilot program that would equip around 20 officers with body cameras for at least six months.

Sargent also says he wants to discuss the results of a recent body cam pilot program in Boston as they work to develop Worcester's program.
