Tourists Taking Selfies Brawl In Front Of Rome’s Trevi Fountain

A fight between two tourists over a prime location to take selfies in front of Trevi Fountain in Rome quickly escalated as six other people joined the brawl. The incident happened when a 19-year-old woman from the Netherlands clashed with a 44-year-old American woman as they attempted to take a selfie in front of the iconic fountain "when the light makes the fountain a perfect backdrop," according to the Guardian.

The two tourists started shouting at each other before punches were thrown. As the two brawled, their family members stepped in and the situation spiraled out of control. Police had to be called to break up the fight between the eight angry tourists.

A pair of officers managed to bring the situation under control for a few minutes, but they had to call for backup when the two groups started fighting again.

The tourists sustained minor injuries and were charged for their violent actions.
