New York City Taxi Driver Arrested After Road Rage Brawl

A 25-year-old New York City taxi cab driver was arrested after she got into a wild fight with the driver of a Nissan SUV that she felt cut her off. Alyssa Jenna Mallett got out of her cab and started "punching, scratching and biting" the 24-year-old driver, according to the New York Post.  A 22-year-old female passenger in the SUV got out to defend the driver from Mallett's assault.

Bystanders jumped in to break up the fight and Mallett eventually got back in her yellow taxi and tried to leave the scene. As she attempted to drive away she struck a UPS truck and a parked vehicle. When she backed up she struck another parked car. Mallett was arrested at the scene and charged with reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, and assault.

FOX 5 New York reported that Mallett has a troubling history with the Taxi and Limousine Commission. In the 14 months that she has had her license, she has been accused of refusing to pick up passengers and overcharging customers.

Her most egregious conduct occurred at LaGuardia Airport in June when she allegedly injured a passenger after striking the woman in the head with a cell phone. Her license was suspended, but "Mallet went to court and pled the charges into a dismissal so the TLC had to reinstate her license."

The TLC said that her license has been suspended following her latest violent incident.
