The Manchester Monarchs announce via their website earlier today that this past season will be their last. The monarchs have played for 18 seasons in Manchester, first a farm team for the LA Kings through the AHL before heading to Ontario in 2015 where they swamped names, leagues, and locations with the Ontario Reign, another farm team for the Kings with the ECHL.
The team had made it into the second round of the playoffs after going 39-29 this season. This is tough for NH hockey fans and parents who always had the Monarchs to turn to for local professional sports.
