The 40-year-old granddaughter of Manson family victim Rosemary LaBianca was found stabbed to death in her apartment back in July. Officials said that Ariana Wolk, a single mother, was found "in a pool of blood in her bed" after being stabbed numerous times in the neck.
Four days after the gruesome murder, authorities identified Jose Sandoval-Romero, 24, as a suspect and took him into custody, where he confessed to killing Wolk.
"During his interview with law enforcement, Sandoval-Romero admitted that he had stabbed Ms. Wolk, fled the scene, and discarded his bloody clothes before fleeing to Colorado Springs," the Denver District Attorney's Office said in an affidavit for Sandoval-Romero's arrest.
Officials did not say why the 24-year-old killed Wolk. The two were spotted together before she was murdered, but it is unclear how they knew each other.
Wolk's mother, Suzan LaBerge, was just 21-years-old when the Manson family killed her mother and stepfather, Leno, in their Los Angeles home on August 10, 1969.
Suzan, who is now 72, told the Daily Mail that she was "grieving" the loss of her daughter and was too upset to comment.
A GoFundMe page was created by Ariana's sister Rommi to help raise money to bring Ariana's body to California. She also set up a separate fundraiser to help create a trust fund for Ariana's young son, Xander.
