US Senate candidate, Chuck Morse on Maggie Hassan’s gas tax holiday, “They want to come up with a gimmick that will last until November. That’s going to cost $20 billion. Somebody’s got to write that check. They’re just going to print the money.”
In an interview with WGIR’s Chris Ryan, the President of the New Hampshire State Senate and candidate for US Senate, Chuck Morse, suggests that President Biden should announce during tonight’s State of the Union speech that he will reverse his energy policy and seek energy independence; discusses his opinion of developing green energy alternatives; considers the 18-cent gas tax holiday to be a political gimmick; states his belief that announcing our intention to being energy independent would lower gas prices and stimulate the economy; and attributes the war in Ukraine to the reversal of the energy policies of the United States.
Chuck Morse believes that our inflation problem can be blamed on too much government spending and our now being dependent on foreign oil. Reopening the Keystone pipeline and extending leases for drilling would be his way to cure the problem. In addition, he’d close up the southern border.
Until green energy sources are competitively priced with fossil fuel sources, Senator Morse favors an all of the above energy policy.
“Consumers should have the choice. When you finally realized that consumers would work to make changes; but, right now, they want their oil.”
As a member of the New Hampshire legislature, Chuck Morse has been the architect of our state budget. He offers his opinion on the proposed 18-cent federal gas tax holiday which is being co-sponsored by his potential opponent, Senator Maggie Hassan.
“They want to come up with a gimmick that will last until November. That’s going to cost $20 billion. Somebody’s got to write that check. They’re just going to print the money.”
Senator Morse believes that the mere announcement of our intention to be energy independence would stimulate the economy and cause a decrease in energy costs.
The crisis in the Ukraine, in Chuck Morse’s opinion, can be attributed to the United States no longer being energy independent.
