"The Golden Age of America begins right now."

At 12:02pm Donald Trump was sworn in as 47th President of the United States and with it the nation felt a mixture of hope, excitement, fear, trepidation, skepticism, but mostly apathy.

I say apathy because most people believe that any Presidency will be much more beneficial to the few hundred elites gathered in the U.S. Capitol to hear the Inaugural Address than the thousands of working class MAGA supporters inside the Capital One Arena.

Their skepticism and apathy is merited, but President Trump made very clear that he is focused on what voters elected to do with a focus in his roughly 30 minute inaugural address on the border, illegal immigrants, foreign gangs selling drugs, inflation, energy, American jobs, establishing the "External Revenue Service".

Some of the best lines included....

"I will declare a national emergency at the southern border...We will be designating the cartels as foreign terrorist organizations."

"I will sign an executive order to end all Government censorship."

"My proudest legacy will be that as a peacemaker and a unifier."

"Ambition is the life blood of a great nation."

"In America, the impossible is what we do best."

Now, President Trump has delivered these types of speeches themed towards unification in the past, but what's different is the amount of people that want to work with him, not against him.

The leaders of congress, commerce, and the world are all eager to make the pilgrimage to Mar-A-Lago or now 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue to make a pitch to be BFFs with 47.

The hope and excitement for many comes from a feeling that better days are ahead.

The thrust of Trump's speech is that we've been stuck in neutral or declining as a nation for too long, and that God saved him from being assassinated to "Make America Great Again."

Trump plans to put America back on offense with this onslaught of executive orders, including renaming the Gulf of Mexico, the Gulf of America, which may seem trivial, but meets an overall theme.

An argument can be made that for decades America has not sought to expand anything beyond a progressive or ideological place in the world, we've rebuilt when disasters have occurred and sought to maintain the status of the world's leading nation, but we haven't sought to expand our footprint, or had bold seemingly difficult to achieve goals like inhabiting Mars.

Trump focused his speech largely on legacy with focuses on economic prosperity, and enhanced safety.

The question is whether he can keep his eye on the ball to achieve a legacy as one of America's legendary President's or will he become distracted by petty grievances.

If his speech serves as his guideline day in, and day out. He has a chance to achieve the goals and legacy he has laid out.
